***Birdhouse***

Birdhouse
My latest creation...a birdhouse.

I made a wet-felted vessel using a resist. (See my directions for making a vessel using a resist in my March 2, 2013 ***Cat Cave*** blog post).

I then added needle-felted embellishments. Here is what the back looks like.
Now it has found its place in our backyard near the waterfall where the birds like to come and play...
I'll have to wait and see if any of the birdies make it their home. ♥ In the meantime, it makes a nice piece of felted art for the garden.

    1. This is my first birdhouse, so I'll have to see how it holds up through the various seasons and weather. I'll keep you posted.

  2. I love this! How clever you are! Could you tell me if you made this with a teardrop shaped resist or with a round one like the cat cave and then moulded it to this shape it is amazing. !!

    1. I made this with a teardrop shaped resist plus a little shaping. It has been outside since the winter and is still doing fine. It didn't shrink or change shape in the rain. I have it hanging under a pergola so it is in just filtered sunlight during the summer.

  3. How did you hang it up? With a piece of wire? It looks beautiful!

    1. Thank you. Yes, I used a piece of wire. It helped to keep it more steady for when the birds visited.
